Cardinals' Deuce Lutui to Judge Mr. Puniverse

INAUGURAL GOLD’S GYM ‘MR. PUNIVERSE 2007’ CONTEST ANNOUNCES CELEBRITY JUDGE DEUCE LUTUI

March 1, 2007, (Scottsdale, AZ)… America’s fitness icon, Gold’s Gym will select the first official ‘Mr. Puniverse 2007’ Phoenix titleholder on Friday, March 2, 2007 at Flicka’s Bar and Grill located at 2003 N. Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale from 8pm to 10pm. Professional football player and Arizona native Deuce Lutui will serve as the event’s celebrity judge. The event is free and open to the public.

This contest is the first of its kind for the Phoenix area franchise. It provides Gold’s Gym the opportunity to educate the public about good health and highlight the mental and bodily benefits of physical fitness- all in a humorous and fun forum. The Mr. Puniverse title will be held by one muscularly underdeveloped male who will act as a Gold’s Gym ambassador for the remainder of 2007. The titleholder will be given a plan to develop more muscle and increase fitness skills throughout the year. Progress will be updated and documented regularly.

Six, serious ‘Mr. Puniverse 2007’ contestants will compete in these categories: strength, cardio, posing and trivia. Each will be given 20 seconds to make their case as to why he should be crowned. Gold’s Gym judges, including Deuce Lutui, will score each contestant in each area. The highest final score will determine the crowned ‘Mr. Puniverse 2007’.

The winner will receive a free lifetime membership to Gold’s Gym, a one-year free membership for a friend or family member, personal training, Gold’s Gym fitness apparel, along with the opportunity to represent Gold’s Gym throughout 2007.

Deuce Lutui was drafted in the second round to begin his rookie season as a professional football player. The 6-foot-5, 338 pound offensive lineman has deep family roots and strong community ties.
